Monkey Business

Nothing following is real. Or maybe it is. Who’s to tell.

The man, the monkey and the myth.

Jackson “Lucky Banana” Thompson spent 15 years on Wall Street before realizing his pet monkey Maurice had a better track record picking stocks. After watching Maurice outperform his entire trading desk by selecting companies whose logos he liked best, Jackson decided to embrace chaos theory in market analysis. He now runs Trained Market Money, where he combines rigorous data analysis with just enough randomness to keep things interesting. His “Monkey Momentum Index” has become an underground sensation among contrarian investors.

When not writing about market anomalies or tracking Maurice’s latest stock picks, Jackson can be found throwing darts at financial newspapers and consulting his collection of Magic 8 Balls for technical analysis. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, which he claims taught him less about successful investing than watching Maurice pick stocks while eating bananas.

His first book, “Bananas, Bears, and Bulls: Why Your Pet Monkey Might Be Better at Trading Than You,” hit #3 on the Wall Street Journal’s bestseller list, though he attributes this success entirely to Maurice randomly selecting the publication date.

*Maurice contributed to this biography by throwing his favorite toy at a market sector map. His aim remains impeccable.*

Ok – you made it this far. I’m Tom. I am an amateur investor who loves researching businesses and looking at their stock performance. Everything I’m writing is my own opinion, and should not be considered financial advice because I am not a financial advisor. Just a novice with a pen (a digital pen?).
